Rolls-Royce Sweptail
The Rolls-Royce Sweptail is one-off large luxury car made in the United Kingdom by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. At the time of its May 2017 debut at the yearly Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este event it was the most expensive new automobile in the world, costing around $12.8 million USD. In 2019, the Sweptail was in turn overtaken as the world's most expensive new car by the Bugatti La Voiture Noire which sold for $18.7 million.
The Rolls-Royce Sweptail is hand-built, and inspired by coachbuilding of the 1920s and 1930s. The Sweptail was commissioned bespoke in 2013 as a one-off automobile, at the request of a super-yacht and aircraft specialist who had unique idea in mind.

Rolls-Royce makes some of the world's most luxurious and expensive cars. With virtually unlimited optional extras, upgrades, and customization, the true cost of a bespoke Rolls-Royce has no limits. The detailed paintwork is done by hand by just one person.
Rolls-Royce unveiled a one-off custom build called the Sweptail. At a reported price of nearly $13 million, it is believed to be the most expensive new car ever commissioned.
Sweptail Design
The Sweptail features one of the largest yet traditional Rolls-Royce front grille made from aluminium and polished by hand to a mirror finish. The side profile has been designed to wrap under the car with no visible boundary, which resembles the hull of a yacht.
The car also features one of the largest panoramic glass roof ever produced for a car. The rear of the car has a raked stern, a design nod intended to evoke racking yachts. The rear brake light is housed in a 'bullet-tip'.
